Be the Man (or Woman) in the Arena

This episode, ‘Be the Men and Women in the Arena’ is based on a 2019 article I wrote on LinkedIn. In the article I shared the iconic speech, “The Man In The Arena”, delivered by President Theodore Roosevelt in April 1910. This speech speaks to me as a great message to those that dare to try something or put in the effort and to not worry about those that sit on the sidelines judging.

For Project Managers our arena is the boardroom we walk into. It is the organization we choose to join. The arena is also the everyday work environment. In the Project Management arena we need to remember, “It is not the critic who counts“. This is key when our project status is “At Risk” or “Critical”. Instead, remember you are in the arena. Your team is in the arena. So, fail having “…dared greatly“.

Stay safe, wash your hands and Godspeed,

Kevin
