Rob and I met during my last semester of college. I was completing my B.A. in Homeland Security and Richmond Ambulance Authority (RAA) was hosting the capstone exercise. I got to know Rob when I became the Planning Captain for RAA. During my time at RAA Rob taught me quite a bit about EMS management and organizational leadership. At RAA Rob and I worked together on many planned events and a few critical incidents.

Rob’s Background

Rob graduated from the United Kingdom’s Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst (like the United State’s West Point). He served in the Royal Army Medical Corps for 22 years. After his military service Rob moved into the civilian EMS world as part of the England Ambulance Service. Heading “across the pond”, Rob transitioned to become COO of the Richmond Ambulance Authority. He now works for Paramedics Plus in Alameda County, California and is the principal of Robert Lawrence Consulting.
