I’ve learned through my own development that there is a fine line between being self-assured or being arrogant. What is key is to find balance between providing “command presence”, even as a Project Manager and not being too overbearing with your opinions or decisions. The importance of self-assurance for Project Managers is what we’ll talk about in this episode.
The definition in the graphic above is directly from Self-Assurance section of the StrengthsFinder 2.0 book. In the latest episode of the ‘People, Process, Progress’ podcast, I provide a brief synopsis of the “StrengthsFinder 2.0” (https://www.amazon.com/StrengthsFinder-2-0-Tom-Rath/dp/159562015X) book put out by Gallup and Tom Rath I talk about the “CliftonStrengths” developed by Don Clifton, the “Father of Strengths Psychology”. More specifically, I provide parallels between the CliftonStrength actions for self-assured people to how these traits can work to the benefit of self-assured Project Managers.
