On Student and Instructor Etiquette

Etiquette in a classroom setting
Let’s all pay attention

Students have an obligation to pay attention. Instructors have an obligation to teach and lead. In ‘On Student and Instructor Etiquette‘ I share my $.02 on how both students can get the most out of classes and how instructors can provide the most value.

Updated 11/3/2022: Keeping this post evergreen after seeing many people on their cell phones and not paying attention during lectures and classes.

For Students/Learners:

“The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you.” – BB King

For Teachers/Instructors:

It is by teaching that we teach ourselves, by relating that we observe, by affirming that we examine, by showing that we look, by writing that we think, by pumping that we draw water into the well.” – Henri Frederic Amiel

Thank you for reading and listening to On Student and Instructor Etiquette. I hope this episode helps students with focus and information retention and helps instructors step out of their role as problem solvers and into the role providing tools to students.
