Wit and Wisdom in BJJ with Andrew Smith and Daniel Frank | PPP76

Have you ever wondered how best to apply a choke while “Man Eater” by Hall and Oates is playing in the background? Do you want to know the difference between Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)? Do you want to be inspired by two BJJ Black Belts who grew a business, led hundreds of students over the years and worked diligently to keep their business afloat during the pandemic? In this episode we’ll learn about the evolution of Revolution BJJ located in Richmond, Virginia.

In this episode we learn how Andrew Smith and Daniel Frank got into grappling. This was a fun episode that spans almost two hours. For the BJJ student or even instructor, Andrew and Daniel share some best practices in bringing new people into BJJ, keeping them in the art and what their outlook is for Revolution BJJ and BJJ itself.

For those that don’t train BJJ, there are lessons on leadership, lesson planning, e.g. Process *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*, fostering relationships and as discussed may times on the ‘People, Process, Progress‘ podcast, the importance of staying dynamic during hard times.

I was thankful to reconnect with Andrew and Daniel, to talk through many questions I had as a brand new person and still have as a BJJ Blue Belt and to share their stories and knowledge with each of you.
